Some thoughts from Graham Briggs:

I'm not really too much of a fan of the Cuman ally; the Catalans

seem to work better. i.e. this army is slow, clanky and likes to get

stuck in. When it does, it needs something to secure the flanks,

even if that means going into terrain. The Cumans can't do those

jobs very well, so you'd end up trying to do them with the Bw.
